Finn-Laczko Architects is a client-driven design practice.

We strongly believe that for a construction project to be successful, it must foremost do what our client needs the building to do; aesthetic impact alone, while important, is just one component of a project’s performance and measures of success. And this is regardless of size and of type-from smallest addition to multimillon dollar building, whether public art installations, residential build-outs or place of worship.

We comprehensively evaluate your requirements and goals, and work through an implementation process designed at best achieving your objectives. Those requirements could include goals for aesthetic expression or style, modes of operation, energy performance, security, durability, or contextual connectivity. And increasingly important to clients are "green" considerations-materials and manufacture, sourcing and shipping of components we specify all have impacts on the energy and environmental footprint of a building. Finally, each of these client goals are discussed relative to the client's cost and schedule performance targets.

Our use of light and materials are central to any design solution. These are skillfully integrated with a large number of factors which include engineering and technical systems, as well as considerations for regulatory compliance. In the ever complexifying world, the most important skill we bring to a project is the integration of all of these elements.

And the best planned designs can fail if not implemented well. Successful implementation relies on detailing and documentation of our drawings and specifications, along with attention to conformance with your budget and schedule constraints, and our continuing overview of the contractors throughout construction.

Implementation is so important that we are also available as project owners’ representatives, managing the implementation of large and complex construction projects. In that "Owner’s Rep" role, we oversee the construction process, evaluating the work of the many designers, engineers, and contractors involved. This level of involvement helps us deliver a project that best meets your goals.
