This established Congregation asked partner David Finn to work with them in the redesign of their Torah Ark. A major feature of this effort focuses on incorportaing new, pertinent materials to the immediate area, or the Bimah. These are local woods like Black Walnut, handmade glass doors and new facing to the adjacent columns using traditional Jerusalem Stone. In collaboration with Alice Prusssin Lighting Design, new lighting approaches were also developed for the Bimah.
Other design aspects in the Sanctuary are also addressed: colors, accessibility features such as an adjustable height Reading Table, new carpet and pews throughout.
To assist the Congregation's Building Committee to visualize the design direction, a series of digital models were presented, along with drawings and material samples. The short clip presented below is of the preferred design.
