From the street, this modest 60's era hillside house had two obvious features:
several prior additions masking its original simplicity and a non-stop view of San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge
Though hired to add another bedroom and bath two the rear, uphill side of the house, the solution resulted in the simplifying of living and dining areas, improving the interior flow, and clarifying the focus on their two new amazing views. The enlarged dining room uses the dead-flat, reclaimed modern ceiling to feature the Bay beyond. The rear family areas are, in turn, closely connected to the new patio and garden.
Working in closely with Huettel-Thuilot Landscape Architects, the new addition resolved a clear connection between the renovated kitchen and family room, and modern garden and fountain, outdoor fireplace and BBQ area
